Firefox Mobile alpha 版本将在数周内发布

尽管不断有消息从 Mozilla 内部传来，Firefox 手机版不会在 2010 年之前发布，可是日前 Mozilla CEO John Lilly 在接受一家媒体采访时却透露，Firefox Mobile alpha 版本将在数周内发布，下面是 John 的原话：

提问： What are you doing in mobile?
回答： We want to make sure that the Web on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offers today, which is closed, separate networks and not a very good information-getting experience for the user. The first thing is to bring Firefox to mobile devices. We're working on that, and we'll see some alphas in a few weeks.

前面我们已经报道过，目前的 Firefox Mobile 还处于以 Nokia N800/810 的 Linux IT OS 为平台的测试阶段，而国内智能手机最常见的系统 Windows Mobile 目前开发进度极其缓慢，针对 Symbian OS 用户 Mozilla 更是直接指出：We are aware of active interest in this platform but do not currently have any plans to port to it。所以即使 Firefox Mobile alpha 如 John 所说在数周内真的和大家见面，也应该只有 Nokia N800/810 的用户可以使用。
