How to download all files on a webpage using DownThemAll!

Posted: 11 Jun 2009 03:41 AM PDT

DownThemAll is a Firefox add-on that you can use for quickly downloading hyperlinked files from any web page.  Previously we would need third party tools to do this, but now since it is a Firefox add-on, you can access the download accelerator from Firefox instantly.

To install the addon, go to their homepage and click the download button: http://www.downthemall.net/

To demonstrate how to use this tool, go to a page that provides direct downloadable content like Dave's Trailer page.

Click Tools > DownThemAll! tools > DownThemAll!:

You will see the DownThemAll! window that you can use to choose which file types to download.  In this example, Dave's Trailer page is a website containing link to downloadable video files so I am interested in only on those files.  To filter only on certain file types, click the checkbox next to a file type under Filters.

The files matching you filter criteria will turn green indicating that they will be downloaded.  You can click the green check icon next to each file to include or exclude them from the download list.

On the Save files in, enter the location of the folder where your files are to be saved.  After that, you're done! Click the start button to begin the download.

If you need to mass download files given a specific webpage, DownThemAll! is a terrific tool.  It is listed as one of the top Firefox addons, so I think many agree that this is indeed a great utility.

Ben Carigtan shows you how it's done.
